Jonathan Bornstein has played in Liga MX since leaving Chivas USA in 2010, most recently with Querétaro since 2015. Since the start of his pro club career in 2006, he's also racked up 38 appearances with the US men's national team -- but hasn't figured on a lineup since 2011.
This past March, when he visited the US for CONCACAF Champions League play, he more than hinted that he was ready to return to the USMNT. And now he's made the desire even more explicit:
In a statement tweeted by his club team itself, Bornstein said, "I want to return to my national team. I feel like I'm at my best, and it would be great to receive a call-up."
