Robbie Keane wants to re-sign with LA Galaxy: "I'd love to stay"

Robbie Keane - LA Galaxy - March 6, 2016

Robbie Keane has enjoyed one of the most illustrious careers in MLS history. But he's not done yet.

While at the LA Galaxy the Irish international, currently in his sixth season, has won three MLS Cups, one Supporters' Shield, MLS MVP and MLS Cup MVP, among his many honors. And he wants to keep the good times rolling, telling Sky Sports he would like to sign a new deal with the Galaxy.

"I think I've done well for the club and I'd love to stay," he said.

Sky Sports reports Keane's current contract is up at the end of this year. And while Keane sounds content with his team, he's not ruling out a possible move to another team -- whether in MLS or another league is unknown -- if the Galaxy do not want to keep him.

"It's out of my hands, and it's up to the club to come and speak to me," Keane explained. "But if not, then no problem, I'll move on and find somewhere else where I'm wanted.

"But my choice is to stay here. I'm settled here. If I'm still producing on the field then there's no reason why I should leave this place."
