Mexico Under-20 roster - 2016 Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game

If there is one thing that Mexico's Under-20 National Team is, it is talented.

The list of youth Mexican players that coach Mario Arteaga will count on to play the MLS Homegrown Team in the 2016 Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game next week was announced on Friday. Highlighting the 19-man group are Chivas midfielder Luis Márquez, Ulises Jaimes and Abraham Romero. Marquez played for Mexico in the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, Jaimes took part in the recent Toulon Tournament with Mexico's under-23 side, and Romero started for El Tri in Under-17 World Cup qualifying last year.

Also on the squad is Christian Herrera, who is on loan at Pachuca from Real Salt Lake's USL affiliate, Real Monarchs SLC. Additionally, four players born in 1995 were included in Mexico's team.

The Mexico U-20s are one of the region’s most accomplished youth national teams, laying claim to 13 CONCACAF U-20 Championship titles and most recently winning the past three editions of the tournament in 2011, 2013 and 2015.

They will take on an MLS Homegrown Team coached by Landon Donovan and featuring players like Jordan Morris and Jesse Gonzalez, who has represented Mexico at both the U-23 and U-20 levels.

As part of the MLS All-Star Week festivities, the MLS Homegrown Team will face Mexico's U-20s on Wednesday, July 27 at 9 pm ET at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California. The match will be streamed live on MLSsoccer.com.
