New England to host Chicago, LA to host Dallas in US Open Cup semifinals

The semifinal sites are set, with New England slated to host Chicago and LA scheduled to host FC Dallas, with both matches scheduled for August 10.


The Fire will host the Open Cup final on September 21 if they win their semifinal. The winner of the Dallas and LA match would host New England should the Revolution progress from the semifinal.

The Chicago Fire, FC Dallas, LA Galaxy and New England Revolution advanced to the final four of the US Open Cup on Wednesday – today, they’ll learn their path to the championship.


US Soccer will hold the draw to determine hosting rights for the Open Cup semifinals and final on Thursday. The Fire will face New England in one semifinal, while Dallas and LA will square off in the other final four match-up.


The draw will be streamed live by US Soccer beginning at 11 am ET. It can be watched above.


The four remaining teams will contest the semifinals on August 10, both of which will be broadcast on ESPN2. The 2016 US Open Cup final will be played on September 21.
