A fan favorite looks to be out the door at New York City FC, with reports emerging Sunday that midfielder Kwadwo Poku had been sold to Miami FC of the the North American Soccer League.

The development was first reported late on Saturday evening, and confirmed by Empire of Soccer's Christian Araos:

Araos reported that the sale was for "a substantial amount of money," with SI.com's Grant Wahl claiming the fee to be somewhere in the range of $750,000.

Poku established himself as a favorite among the crowd at Yankee Stadium for his electric performances in 2015, when he continued his remarkable rise by netting four goals and seven assists across 27 appearances, 21 of which came off the bench.

The imposing Ghanaian has struggled to find his spot on the field in 2016, however, with only seven appearances, 268 minutes and one goal to his name. He did not make the gameday roster for NYCFC's latest result, a 2-0 win at Seattle on Saturday.
