La Galaxy, Seattle Sounders, and more MLS clubs celebrate Pride

LA Galaxy pride scarf

After the recent traffic attack on Pulse nightclub in Orlando, the LGBTQ community needs our support more than ever. And for Pride Week, MLS teams are launching events to celebrate and support. Here’s some information on what’s happening around the league, with more updates coming soon.

LA Galaxy

For their home game on June 22 vs. the Colorado Rapids (10:30 pm ET, MLS LIVE), the Galaxy are hosting their third annual Pride Night. If you buy tickets through lagalaxy.com/pride, you get this sweet, rainbow-colored, limited-edition scarf. The first 150 sold through that link also came with a Robbie Rogers signature. After the game, Rogers himself will host a special fan Q&A. Get full details about the event here.

Seattle Sounders

The Sounders will celebrate their second annual Pride Day during their nationally televised match against NYCFC on Saturday, June 25 (5 pm ET, ESPN, MLS LIVE). Among other festivities, the club will distribute 50,000 pride flags to the first fans through the gates. They’ll also present Seattle Mayor Ed Murray with a Golden Scarf during a special pre-match ceremony. Sounders captain Brad Evans will also wear a pride armband for the match. Get full details about the event here.

Orlando City

Orlando City doesn’t have a home game this weekend, but we must mention their ongoing auction of game-worn jerseys from last weekend, their first back since the city’s tragic events. The club has, of course, been heavily involved in support and charity efforts and this is one more project to raise money for the OneOrlando Fund. Please visit the auction here; bidding ends Friday, June 25.

Vancouver Whitecaps

Whitecaps celebrate their own Pride night on Wed., July 13 when they play Real Salt Lake (10:30 pm ET, MLS LIVE). Every ticket comes with a set of WFC pride shoelaces
