Heineken Rivalry Edición Especial: Univision to air June 25 Cali Clasico

The California Clasico between the San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy is one of the special rivalry matches in MLS. So special in fact, it'll get the Heineken Rivalry EdiciĆ³n Especial treatment this Saturday ... on Univision.

On Monday it was announced that the June 25 match at Stanford Stadium, with over 40,000 tickets already sold, will be the first MLS match featured on the Univision flagship network since 1999. The event, which kicks off at 10 pm ET, will also be simulcast on UDN (Univision Deportes Network).

The MLS regular season match will be the nightcap of a soccer doubleheader that begins with the third-place game from the Copa America Centenario (8 pm ET) between the USA and Colombia.

The Cali Clasico match will mark the third and final meeting between the NorCal-SoCal rivals this season. The Galaxy won 3-1 on March 19 and the teams tied, 1-1 on May 22.

The Galaxy (22pts) currently have a one point lead over their rivals in the Western Conference standings after 15 matches. Both teams are coming off draws: The Quakes tied Orlando on the road last weekend, while the LA Galaxy were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw against the league-leading Colorado Rapids on Wednesday night.
