GOAL: Argentina's Lavezzi scores vs. USA in 3rd minute of Copa America semi

It was the worst possible start for the US national team against Argentina in their Copa America semifinal on Tuesday night in Houston.

Ezequiel Lavezzi, who started in place of the suspended Nicolas Gaitan, ran onto a ball from Lionel Messi and headed it over US goalkeeper Brad Guzan to give Argentina a 3rd-minute lead.

It was the first time since the Copa America inaugural match vs. Colombia that the USA fell behind in a match.

The goal was also the earliest that the USA conceded since allowing Oalex Anderson to score after just five minutes in a 6-1 win vs. St. Vincent and the Grenadines in St. Louis last November. They also allowed Portugal's Nani to score in the 5th minute of their 2014 World Cup matchup in Brazil. They came back to tie that match 2-2.
