A massive match in the chase for playoff positions in the Eastern Conference is ahead when Orlando City SC play host to Toronto FC on Wednesday evening at Camping World Stadium. Orlando City return home off yet another road draw, still sitting right on the red line in a tie for sixth place and the final postseason spot in the East after their scoreless draw at the Colorado Rapids last weekend. Toronto FC have made a charge up the conference standings, now sitting in second place just a point out of the top spot, their undefeated streak now at six games following a 3-1 win at Philadelphia Union to start their road swing last weekend.

- Orlando City saw their current winless run extended to three games – with a second consecutive draw – following their goalless draw at the Colorado Rapids on Saturday evening. OCSC have won once in four starts since Jason Kreis was named head coach.
- Sebastian Giovinco scored his 16th goal of the season – tied for the lead in the MLS Golden Boot standings – in TFC’s 3-1 win at Philadelphia Union on Saturday, their fifth win in their last six matches. Giovinco has at least a goal and/or an assist in each of the last six matches, with eight goals and four assists in that span (dating back to July 23); he has played a part in 12 of TFC’s last 15 goals.
- The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Kaká converted a penalty kick in the 100th minute – matching the latest goal scored in a regulation match in MLS history – as Orlando City took a 3-2 win June 25 at Camping World Stadium.
- It was Orlando City’s first victory in the all-time series. Toronto FC won all three meetings between the clubs in Orlando City’s inaugural season in MLS, outscoring OCSC 11-1. TFC won both meetings at BMO Field, three weeks apart, a 4-1 win Aug. 5 and a 5-0 win Aug. 22, also winning 2-0 in Orlando on April 26.

• Orlando City took the lead after just five minutes. Adrian Winter found Kevin Molino on the edge of the area, and he drove in a low pass that Cyle Larin hammered into the roof of the goal from close range. But TFC leveled terms just two minutes into the second half, when Jordan Hamilton finished off a left-footed shot from the center of the area.
• City looked to have hit for the winner in the 83rd minute when Kevin Molino picked up a loose ball after TFC substitute goalkeeper Alex Bono failed to control, and chipped into the goalmouth for Winter to head into an open goal.
• But Toronto FC leveled the score in the 90th minute when Justin Morrow tapped home at the far post from Sebastian Giovinco's low cross from the right.
• Then in the eighth minute of stoppage time, TFC's Drew Moor was adjudged to have pulled down Julio Baptista in the box, and referee Ismail Elfath pointed to the spot. After Toronto's Josh Williams was sent off for protests, Kaka blasted the penalty into the roof of the net in the 100th minute of play.
