MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends Roger Espinoza

The MLS Disciplinary has handed down a suspension and fine to one player and fined another after Week 12 of the MLS season. The Committee also found four teams to be in violation of the league's Mass Confrontation Policy.

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended Sporting Kansas City midfielder Roger Espinoza for one game and issued him an undisclosed fine for violent conduct that endangered the safety of an opponent in the 85th minute of SKC's match against Real Salt Lake on May 21. Espinoza will serve the suspension during Friday's match against D.C. United.


Orlando City-Montreal Mass Confrontation, Venegas fine



The Committee has found Orlando City SC and the Montreal Impact in violation of the league's Mass Confrontation Policy after an incident that was initiated by Orlando's Brek Shea and Montreal's Johan Venegas in the 40th minute of their team’s match-up on May 21. While Shea received a yellow card for his role in the incident, Venegas will be assessed an undisclosed fine for his role in instigating the incident


New York City FC-New York Red Bulls Mass Confrontation



On May 21, New York City FC and New York Red Bulls were found to be in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy in the 36th minute of play.
