Kobe Bryant probably has a little more time on his hands now that his NBA career is over.


Looks like he’s spending some of it on a soccer field.

In a promotional video released Thursday, the former Los Angeles Lakers star and big-time soccer fan gives fans a quick primer of the Copa America Centenario– and how the “world’s biggest superstars are coming to the US.”


“This is no friendly,” he said. “This is the championship of the Americas. And the road to Russia [World Cup 2018] starts here.”


The Copa America Centenario, a celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the competition, is a 32-match tournament that will be held in the USA from June 3 to June 26. Along with all 10 South American countries, six nations from the CONCACAF region will also be participating, including the hosts.
