  • United will be hosting a New York team for the second straight game, after having suffered a 2-0 loss to NYCFC in RFK Stadium on Mother's Day. D.C. had a modest two-game unbeaten streak end with their loss, while the Red Bulls' 1-1 draw with Orlando City SC last Friday ended a two-game winning streak.
  • The teams also met in the Eastern Conference semifinals last fall, with the Red Bulls winning 1-0 in each leg to advance. It was their second straight meeting in the playoffs, and the third time in the last four years they have met in the postseason.
