Seattle Sounders' Jordan Morris ties rookie record scoring streak

With Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris scoring his fourth goal in as many games, his name entered the MLS record books: Morris' strike from distance against the San Jose Earthquakes pulled him into a three-way tie for the longest MLS goal-scoring streak by a rookie.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Jamaican international Damani Ralph set the mark with a four-game stretch for the Chicago Fire in 2003. That benchmark was met by New York City FC's Patrick Mullins (albeit) with the New England Revolution, pre-expansion draft) in 2014, and now has been met again by Morris.

Morris' goal against the Earthquakes comes after scoring the game-winner in a 1-0 Seattle win over the Columbus Crew last week. His other two goals came from a 3-1 loss to the Colorado Rapids, and the game winner in a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Union.

The Seattle rookie will go for the record on the road against FC Dallas next Saturday, May 14 (9pm ET; MLS LIVE)
