First Lady Michelle Obama hit New York City on Tuesday for her annual #CollegeSigningDay celebration, and several MLS players came along for the festivities. At the Harlem Armory, a few members of the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC mingled with high school seniors and celebrities to boost higher education.

Hosted by MTV in conjunction with Viacomā€™s Get Schooled initiative, the First Lady spoke at the event to honor more than 4000 invited New York City high school seniors. They're all choosing to pursue higher education at a professional training program, community college, or four-year college or university.

The Red Bullsā€™ Sacha Kljestan (Seton Hall) and Luis Robles (University of Portland), along with NYCFCā€™s Jason Hernandez (Seton Hall) and Patrick Mullins (University of Maryland) counted themselves among the dozens of entertainers and pro athletes honoring the students at the event. They even got to rub shoulders with a few celebs themselves, posing for photos with Robert De Niro, Melissa McCarthy and Calvin Johnson, among others.
