New York Red Bulls forward Bradley Wright-Phillips changed his boots and changed his luck with a brace in their slump-busting 3-2 win over Orlando City on Sunday. However, Lions boss Adrian Heath argued that New York got away with what should have been a red-card offense.

In Sunday's opener, San Jose jumped into the Western Conference title picture with a 1-0 win over Sporting KC. While Earthquakes backstop David Bingham shined in the win, their lone goal came from MLS scoring leader Chris Wondolowski.
