Report: Turkish giants Besiktas chasing Canadian midfielder Junior Hoilett

Junior Hoilett - Canada National Team

Turkish Super Lig leaders Besiktas are interested in signing Canadian winger Junior Hoilett for next season, according to a report in Istanbul newspaper Milliyet. Hoilett, who currently plays for Queens Park Rangers, in the English Championship, would join Canadian teammate Atiba Hutchinson with Besiktas.

Hoilett, 25, has played in England for nine years, spending five seasons with Blackburn Rovers before moving to QPR in 2012. But Besiktas tried to sign him last summer, and Hoilett’s contract is up at the end of this season. He has six goals in 29 games for the London club this season.

According to the report, Hutchinson, who has played for Besiktas for three years, is helping in the effort to land Hoilett, who has played alongside him in the Canadian midfield since last October. The pair are both from Brampton, Ontario, just north of Toronto.
