Copa America trophy tours Chicago ahead of this summer's tournament

We’re less than two months away from the start of the Copa America Centenario, and the tournament’s organizers built a little excitement over the weekend in Chicago by taking the Copa trophy on a four-day swing of the city.

The trophy hit several of Chicago’s more famous landmarks, starting its tour by stopping at Soldier Field, which will host group stage matches on June 5, 7 and 10.

No soccer-themed visit to Chicago is complete without a stop at The Globe Pub, one of the city’s most venerable soccer bars:

The cup even made it down to Bridgeview, where fans were able to pose with it ahead of the Fire’s home match against Montreal at Toyota Park on Saturday:

Some members of the Fire organization got in on the action, with US Under-23 international Matt Polster, Chicago head coach Veljko Paunovic, club GM Nelson Rodriguez and COO Atul Khosla accompanying the trophy to Chicago City Hall:

The trophy hit the Magnificent Mile, too, stopping for the obligatory – if perhaps a little overdone – shot at The Bean:

The trophy will be making stops in all 10 host cities ahead of the tournament, which will kick off on June 3 when the US faces Colombia at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
