Sporting Kansas City’s match against the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday (8:30 pm ET, MLS LIVE) will mark exactly 20 years since the two clubs made their MLS debuts against each other on April 13, 1996.
Sporting will be doing quite a bit to commemorate the inaugural encounter on Wednesday at Children’s Mercy Park. The club are set to rock some throwback warm-up shirts and retro rainbow numbers during the game and will even honor former striker Digital Takawira at the match.
On Monday, the club posted the entire broadcast of that first match to their website and YouTube page, meaning you can now watch the Kansas City Wiz’s 3-0 win over the Rapids at Arrowhead Stadium in full.
