Emerson Hyndman - US U-23 - celebration - Olympic qualifying

We've seen a lot of youngsters score their first pro goals this weekend. But as far as the significance of those goals go, there may be none bigger than young American Emerson Hyndman's first goal for English outfit Fulham.

With the Cottagers locked in a 1-1 draw at home against Cardiff City on Saturday, Hyndman came up with this finish in the third minute of second half stoppage time to seal a much-needed win:

First goals don't get much better than that, right?

Turns out they do – Hyndman, who has already been capped by the senior US national team, also happened to be celebrating his 20th birthday on Saturday.

Hyndman, who was making his second consecutive start and just his seventh on the season, earned a helping of praise from Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic after the game.

"He's probably one of the more talented players. I am little bit disappointed with myself that I haven't found more minutes for him this season," said Jokanovic. "He probably needs to be a little bit stronger for the Championship. But he's a young guy and he will be a very good footballer for us."
