Minnesota United FC's Christian Ramirez scores wonder goal in NASL opener

Orlandoā€™s Brek Shea had quite the stunner on Sunday, but the best goal of the weekend may have come from NASL.

Minnesota United FC striker Christian Ramirez had an absolutely amazing strike in the soon-to-be MLS clubā€™s season opener at the Carolina Railhawks on Saturday, running onto a long ball and dipping a half-volley over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net from way out in the second minute (watch above).

However, the stunner wasnā€™t enough for Minnesota to pull out a result, as United fell 2-1 to Carolina.

Ramirez, who turned 25 on Monday, has scored 34 goals in 60 games since joining the Loons in 2014. The two-time NASL Best XI selection signed a contract through the 2017 season last February.

Minnesota is scheduled to join MLS in 2017 or 2018.
