Chicago Fire GM Nelson Rodriguez says team will sign forward, winger soon

Nelson Rodriguez - Chicago Fire

The Chicago Fire still have four spots on their roster open, but it appears that might not be the case for much longer.

Speaking to ESPN1000's Fire Weekly radio show on Saturday morning, Chicago general manager Nelson Rodriguez revealed that two new signings are on the docket during the league's Primary Transfer Window, which ends on May 11.

The signings should allow head coach Veljko Paunovic more flexibility in his tactical choices. The Fire have almost exclusively played in a 3-5-2 formation that forgoes traditional wingers for wingbacks in order to provide width.

Chicago have yet to win a game in 2016, going 0-1-2 in their first three games. They are currently in action against the Philadelphia Union on MLS LIVE.
