Johan Cruyff leaves lasting impact on the beautiful game

Johan Cruyff - 1974

The soccer world may have lost an all-time great, but Johan Cruyff's impact on the game will not be forgotten.

Cruyff passed away on Thursday at the age of 68, and quickly players both former and current from all over the globe shared messages on social media honoring the legendary Dutchman. Cruyff was known for his impressive goal-scoring and attacking exploits, and a career that saw him win three consecutive European Cups with Ajax and reach the 1974 World Cup final with the Netherlands.

Another thing he is famous for is the 'Cruyff turn', which he pulled off in that international tournament in a game against Sweden. The dribbling move has been popular ever since, with players of all ages and from all across the world executing it to try and get by a defender.

Often imitated but never duplicated. There is only one Johan Cruyff.
