Report: Liverpool, Hamburg, Leverkusen scouting USMNT's Bobby Wood

Bobby Wood’s successful season seems to be catching the eye of some big clubs.

German outlet Berliner Kurier reported on Monday that the US national team striker’s stellar form for second-division side Union Berlin has attracted the attention of English giants Liverpool and Bundesliga sides Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool scouts were reportedly in attendance for Union Berlin's 4-0 win on March 5 against FSV Frankfurt, where Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi is currently on loan. Wood had a brace in the match, reportedly impressing the Liverpool contingent with his performance. Liverpool is coached by Jurgen Klopp, who spent his entire career in his native Germany before moving to the English Premier League club in October.

Wood, 23, is currently in camp with the USMNT ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Guatemala on March 25 and 29. The Hawaii native moved to Union Berlin from 1860 Munich in July, and has scored 14 goals in 25 appearances for the 2. Bundesliga club. His contract with Berlin runs through the 2017-18 season.

Wood has four goals in 14 career caps with the USMNT.
