US U-20s open Dallas Cup campaign with 1-0 defeat of Mexico's Monterrey

The US U-20 national team kicked off their Dallas Cup campaign with a 1-0 win over Mexico's Monterrey at the Cotton Bowl, former home of FC Dallas in their previous incarnation as the Burn, on Sunday.


Duke University striker Jeremy Ebobisse finished a through ball from Brooks Lennon for the game winner.


The result gives the U-20s an early lead in Bracket A of the famous international tournament's Gordon Jago Super Group, as Fulham and Hoffenheim drew 3-3 in the bracket's other game.


Tab Ramos' US squad next face Fulham FC next on Monday afternoon (5 pm ET, streamed live on ussoccer.com).
