David Beckham tells GQ he could still be playing in MLS if he lived in LA

David Beckham first GQ cover

GQ loves some soccer beefcake lately. Who can forget the cover of their “bodies” issue this past January, which featured a trunks-wearing and and vascular Cristiano Ronaldo draped in supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio?

So, this month, we’ve got a cover featuring the sport’s more seasoned mainstream heartthrob, David Beckham, his first ever for the magazine.

The most salient quote? Beckbabe says he thinks he could still be playing in L.A. if he lived there:

“I don’t know whether it’s the athlete in me, or the passion I have for the game: I always think that I can step back on the field and play…. You know, maybe I could play another year in the U.S. If I was still living in L.A., I’d probably really seriously think about coming back for a year.”

Interrrresting. It’s not going to happen—he lives in London and notes he has no plans to leave—but let’s think for a minute on where he’d fit into the Galaxy’s current line-up, shall we?

Or we can just enjoy these photos in the spread of a fancy Becks enjoying a fish and chips takeaway, because he’s still totally a regular guy.
