FC Dallas fans can breathe a big sigh of relief: Fabian Castilloās injury isnāt serious.
The star Colombian winger was stretchered off the field in the dying moments of FCDās season-opening 2-0 win against the Philadelphia Union on Sunday, prompting fears that the 2015 MLS Best XI selection would miss significant time with an adductor injury.
He appears to be on track for a relatively quick recovery, however, telling The Dallas Morning Newsā Jon Arnold on Tuesday that heās hoping to be back in time for Saturdayās Texas derby match at the Houston Dynamo (8:30 pm ET, MLS LIVE).
āGood. I feel good,ā said Castillo, who scored FCD's opener against Philadelphia. āFortunately it wasnāt anything serious. Today [Tuesday] we did some work to try and stimulate the muscle again. Itās a little tight.ā
According to Arnold, Castillo trained apart from the team on Tuesday and planned to do so again on Wednesday. Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja, who said after Sundayās match that Castillo would likely miss a couple of weeks, is optimistic that the 23-year-old will be available on Saturday.
āObviously, we will take care of him as much as we can, but knowing Fabian and knowing his body and everything, it may be very likely that he will be OK,ā Pareja said.
