The US men’s national team looks like it's set to gear up for this summer’s Copa América with a friendly in Kansas City against Bolivia, with multiple reports indicating that the USMNT will face the South American nation at Children’s Mercy Park in late-May.
A Bolivian outlet reported on Tuesday that the two nations would face off on May 29 in Kansas City. FIFA’s website also has the friendly listed on their schedule, though they have the game marked for May 28.
The Washington Post’s esteemed soccer reporter Steven Goff indicated on Wednesday that a match may indeed be in the works, but said that nothing has been finalized yet.
If the match is played, it would likely be the US’s final tune-up before they kick off the Copa América on June 3 against Colombia at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The US will continue group play on June 7 against Costa Rica in Chicago before wrapping Group A action on June 11 against Paraguay in Philadelphia.
Bolivia was drawn into Group D at the Copa América, and will play Panama in Orlando on June 6, Chile in Foxborough, Massachusetts on June 10 and Argentina on June 14 in Seattle.
