Progress on Atlanta United FC’s downtown stadium marches right along, with recently released aerial photos providing a great view of the project.

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which will also house the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, is set to open June 1, 2017 for AUFC’s inaugural MLS season, pushed back three months from its original completion date.

Team owner Arthur Blank told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he “fully anticipates” playing all 17 home matches at the new $1.4 billion, 71,000-seat stadium, the article indicates that “an alternate temporary venue will be lined up in Atlanta for the soccer team if needed.”
