Real Salt Lake to face Club Tijuana in preseason friendly on Tuesday

Real Salt Lake are spending the first leg of their preseason training outside San Diego, and the Claret & Cobalt are set to cross the border on Tuesday for a friendly against Liga MXā€™s Club Tijuana.

Tuesdayā€™s match will serve as a bit of preparation for RSLā€™s CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series against Mexican side Tigres, which is set to kick off in Monterrey on February 24.

RSL head coach Jeff Cassar told the clubā€™s Web site to expect the team to focus on their defensive responsibilities on Tuesday and that heā€™d play two different lineups in each half, with a few exceptions.

ā€œWhere we really want the group is not thinking about Tijuana, just thinking about us,ā€ Cassar said. ā€œThinking about what we want to do defensively, where we want to win the balls, whatā€™s our intensity like in those areas and coming out of it not getting hurt.ā€
