Sporting Kansas City beat FC Tucson in preseason match
Ahead of the upcoming Desert Diamond Cup, Sporting Kansas City played its first preseason match today, against PDL team FC Tucson.
San Jose Earthquakes beat San Francisco Stompers FC
The San Jose Earthquakes hosted NPSL team San Francisco Stompers FC for a preseason friendly at Avaya Stadium. They notched a tidy victory.
Houston Dynamo get Argentine midfielder Miranda back on loan
The Houston Dynamo announced the return of Argentine midfielder Leonel Miranda, on loan from Argentine first-division side C.A. Independiente. Miranda, age 22, also played on loan with the Dynamo during the 2015 season, making 20 regular-season appearances and tallying two goals and one assist. "With one MLS season under his belt, he integrated well within our team and is eager to get into camp in preparation for the upcoming season," said Houston VP/general manager Matt Jordan in a statement. The team will also have the option to extend Miranda's loan.
New York City FC put Wingert on waivers
NYCFC announced they'd put defender Chris Wingert on waivers. The team originally acquired the 33-year-old in the 2014 expansion draft; he played 2169 minutes for them in 27 appearances.
Orlando City waive Estrela
The Lions announced their own waiver: midfielder Estrela, a Portuguese international. He originally joined Orlando City towards the end of the team's 2014 USL season, but in the team's first MLS season, made only two appearances, both during friendlies.
