LA Galaxy send first-round SuperDraft pick to Colorado Rapids for Targeted Allocation Money

Let the wheeling and dealing begin.

The LA Galaxy and Colorado Rapids made the first move of Thursday’s 2016 MLS SuperDraft, as LA sent the 12th-overall pick to Colorado in exchange for Targeted Allocation Money. Per league and club policy, the amount of TAM exchanged was not disclosed.

The Rapids now hold five selections in the draft; they’ll pick second, 12th, 22nd, 43rd and 63rd.

As things stand, the Galaxy won’t pick in Thursday’s portion of the draft, which only features the first two rounds. They currently hold two third-round selections (42nd and 53rd) and one fourth-round pick (73rd). The third and fourth rounds of the draft will be held next Tuesday.
