Toronto FC announced on Wednesday that center back Ahmed Kantari has been placed on waivers, opening up roster room and cap space for defensive reinforcements.
A midseason signing last year, the 30-year-old departs TFC having appeared in just 12 matches (10 starts) in his brief career with the Reds. The French-born Moroccan international arrived from Ligue 1 side RC Lens on July 25, 2015.
