Report: Free agent Drew Moor drawing interest from multiple teams, including Colorado Rapids

Drew Moor - Colorado Rapids - Reacts to a call

The first edition of MLS free agency should make for an interesting offseason.

One player reportedly drawing interest? Veteran defender Drew Moor.

Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl reported on Wednesday that at least six teams are interested in signing the 31-year-old, including the Colorado Rapids, where he's played since 2009.

According to the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, Moor can only increase his salary by 15 percent with his new contract. The report also indicated that the Rapids are looking to sweeten their deal by offering Moor a role with the club after his playing days are over. A Rapids spokesperson didn’t go into details of the negotiations, only telling MLSsoccer.com that they have offered Moor a new contract.

Moor has spent the past seven seasons with the Rapids, captaining the club since June 2013. He spent the four-and-a-half seasons of his career with FC Dallas; the Texas-native has made 304 career regular season appearances since joining MLS in 2005.
