People say a good soccer game is a work of art.
The two will mix Sunday at the close of Art Basel festival in Miami with the first ever COPA Basel, a celebration of art and the beautiful game at Wynwood Soccer Complex.
The event will feature games played by teams made up of former MLS stars Eddie Johnson and Dwayne De Rosario, USWNT DJ and footy tastemaker Florencia Galarza as well as street artists The London Police, Cyrcle, Greg Mishka, Inkie, JC Rivera, Evoca1, Stephen Bliss, Cope2 and Conzo. In addition to the exhibition tournament, the fan interaction zone will feature the 2015 MLS Cup title game projected on the wall and canvassed art by Art Basel participants.
In addition to live art and live soccer activities, attendees can enjoy a sneaker cleaning station and display by London’s Crep Protect, special custom MLS Cup T-shirt screen-printing by 47 Brand, who will also provide outfits for all teams, and a live art truck and 21 and over soccer lounge by Heineken.
