New York City FC midfielder Andrea Pirlo posts Twitter message with rumor-killing hashtag

Andrea Pirlo follows though after passing - NYCFC

Andrea Pirlo is tired of the rumors.

Pirlo took to Twitter earlier this week to post a message that included photos of him training with Frank Lampard at New York City FC's training grounds. It was the 36-year-old midfielder's hashtags that told the real story, however, as he stated that he was "back home" after a vacation in Miami and wanted rumors about a potential move away from the club to stop.

Pirlo, who joined NYCFC at the halfway point of this season, has been the subject of transfer and loan rumors and speculation in recent weeks. He said after the expansion club's inaugural campaign ended that he was not going anywhere in the offseason, yet reports continued to pop up linking him with an exit from the Big Apple. Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini even recently said "Never say never" when talking about a potential move for Pirlo.

The legendary Italian maestro and NYCFC are still training until December before heading into the offseason. All players are expected to report for preseason duty in late January for the club's second year in MLS.
