MLS fans, it is time to vote.

FutbolMLS.com’s annual signature contest, Latino del Año, is back for its sixth edition.

Guatemalan international and Seattle Sounders midfielder Marco Pappa was crowned as the 2014 Latino del Año winner, following an unprecedented contest last year with the highest votes in the history of the tournament.  Pappa will now be competing against the league’s top Latino stars as fan voting kicks off on Wednesday, November 18.

The popular tournament-style format will feature a group stage, round of 16, quarterfinals and a final stage composed of the four finalists.

MLSsoccer.com and FutbolMLS.com editors, as well as a panel of media members selected the top 32 Latino players that made an impact throughout the 2015 MLS regular season, including winners of FutbolMLS.com’s weekly contest, Latino de la Jornada. The players were seeded and divided into eight groups of four players each.

The top two vote-getters in each group advance to the subsequent knockout rounds.

In 2010, former Seattle Sounders Colombian striker Fredy Montero was crowned the winner. Former Sporting Kansas City and Mexico forward Omar Bravo was the winner in 2011. Houston Dynamo and Honduras star Boniek Garcia was the winner in 2012, while now-D.C. United and Costa Rica forward Alvaro Saborio claimed the 2013 contest while a memeber of Real Salt Lake.

Criteria
Created in 2010, Latino del Año is FutbolMLS.com's annual contest to select the best Latino player in MLS, based on fan voting. All MLS players born in a Latin American country, Spain or those who were born in the United States and have Hispanic heritage are eligible.

The contest is held at the end of each MLS regular season, consisting of three weeks of voting by fans who determine which players advance until a winner is chosen.
