Former Red Bulls congratulate New York on winning Supporters' Shield

The New York Red Bulls and their fans weren't the only ones celebrating the club's Supporters' Shield win on Sunday, with plenty of former Red Bulls getting in on the party, too.

The Red Bulls hoisted their second Supporters' Shield in three years by picking up a2-1 road win over the Chicago Fire on #DecisionDay, and it did not take very long for the congratulatory messages to begin pouring in from the likes of Thierry Henry, Mike Petke and Tim Ream, among others.

Winning the Shield was no doubt sweet, but, as New York head coach Jesse Marsch pointed out in his post-game message to the team (see above video), there are bigger things for the club to accomplish this year. Namely, trying to win a first-ever MLS Cup.

If the Red Bulls can accomplish that, the congratulatory messages might multiply tenfold.
