Seattle Sounders' Osvaldo Alonso has emotional reunion with father eight years after leaving Cuba | SIDELINE

Osvaldo Alonso - Seattle Sounders

Osvaldo Alonso and his father never thought that they would see each other again after the former chose to defect from Cuba back in 2007, but they were reunited eight years later.
As you can expect, it was as emotional as can be.

Alonso and his dad saw each other for the first time in nearly a decade in late September, and the Seattle Sounders have released a touching video in which the two of them talk about the moment that they never believed would happen. Alonso not only got to spend time with his dad and introduce him to the family he has made in Seattle, but also was able to realize a dream by playing a game for the Sounders in front of Osvaldo Alonso Sr.

Alonso Sr. also got to lead the Sounders' fans in chants before the game, adding to the special and incredible experience that was their reunion.

It's a touching story, and one that will not soon be forgotten.
