American Exports: Alejandro Bedoya helps Nantes end losing streak, Tim Ream and Fulham blanked

Alejandro Bedoya celebrates a goal for Nantes

AMSTERDAM – Alejandro Bedoya was a proper nuisance on Tuesday night, helping Ligue 1 visitors Nantes score a sorely needed 1-0 victory at Lille.

The US attacker wasted little time in having impact, with his initial shot tucked away on the rebound by Jules Iloki after just five minutes. Shortly before intermission, Bedoya pinged the crossbar with a header from Iloki's cross.

Bedoya, who somehow managed to avoid a booking despite seven fouls, also added two clearances and a pair of pass interceptions at the defensive end. The Canaries snapped a four-game losing streak to pull level on points with 11th-placed Bastia.

Meanwhile, in England's Championship, Tim Ream and Fulham suffered the indignity of a 3-0 home loss to Wolverhampton.

With the Cottagers pinned back much of the night, Ream notched six clearances, two pass interceptions and a shot block working as the right center back. Fulham lost for the second time in three games to remain docked in 14th place.
