A crucial match in the Eastern Conference is ahead when Orlando City SC entertain the Montreal Impact on Saturday evening at Camping World Stadium. City return home after seeing their winless run extended to six matches, dropping a 2-1 decision at Sporting Kansas City last weekend. The Impact reeled off a fourth consecutive draw in their last match, a 1-1 result with Philadelphia Union last Saturday at Stade Saputo. The teams are separated by five positions but just five points in the tight East table.
Orlando City had their winless streak extended to six games – matching the longest in the club’s MLS history – with their third loss in that time in a 2-1 defeat by Sporting Kansas City on Sunday afternoon.
- Didier Drogba scored for a third consecutive game, netting the Impact’s lone goal in their 1-1 draw with Philadelphia Union on Saturday afternoon at Stade Saputo. Drogba has three goals and three assists in the last four games – with at least a goal and/or assist in each – as the Impact have recorded four consecutive draws.
- The teams met three times in Orlando City SC’s inaugural season, evenly splitting the season series. Each team won once at home, the Impact taking a 2-0 victory June 20 at Stade Saputo, and Orlando City responding with a 2-1 win in Orlando. The teams reached a 2-2 draw in their first meeting, March 14 at Olympic Stadium.
