AMSTERDAM – Bob Bradley's Stabæk kept their slim Tippeligaen title hopes alive with a 1-0 home victory over Ethan Horvath and Molde FK on Sunday night.

Cole Grossman went the distance in midfield for the Blue Ones, and drew a decent save from Horvath 12 minutes from time. The best of the Molde goalkeeper's three saves came a few minutes later when he stopped a downward Luc Kassi header from point-blank range.

The result kept Bradley's boys within eight points of the top with five games left in the campaign. Molde, meanwhile, fell nine points back of the final Europa League slot.

Stabæk could gain no ground because league leaders Rosenborg dealt A.J. Soares and Viking a 2-0 road defeat.

The former New England Revolution defender was largely strong at the back, but was also among the culpable on the Troll Kids' 66th-minute insurance tally. Due to their first loss in four, the Dark Blues lost hold of the last Europa League berth, slipping two points behind third-place Strømsgodset.

Over in Scotland's Championship, loan playmaker Gedion Zelalam notched another assist as table-toppers Rangers eased to a 4-0 victory at Greenock Morton.

Having already drawn a good save in the opening moments, Zelalam chalked up his fifth helper in seven overall matches since arriving from Arsenal for a season-long stint in the 33rd minute.

The US Olympic squad member played James Tavernier into the area and the forward made no mistake to bag Rangers' third. Now perfect through eight rounds, the Light Blues moved nine points clear at the top.
