USL: Three MLS reserve sides vying for title as 2015 playoffs open with 4-game weekend slate

USL 2015 alignment

The final round of action in the USL season is almost complete, and three MLS reserve sides have cemented their place in the playoffs.
Three of four conference quarterfinals were confirmed over the weekend, with the last to be determined Tuesday: Orange County Blues FC and Sacramento Republic FC square off with a postseason berth on the line.
The MLS-operated sides have all clinched, with Seattle Sounders FC 2 completing the triad with a 3-2 Saturday victory over the Austin Aztex. LA finished fifth in the conference and are scheduled to travel to whomever advances between Sacramento and Orange County.

In the East, New York Red Bulls II were defeated 3-2 on the road by the league-leading Rochester Rhinos. New York rallied back from a 2-0 deficit, with Stefano Bonomo scoring an equalizer nearly at the death. The Rhinos responded with an even later and more dramatic goal from Sean Totsch.

No. 4 seed Red Bulls II will host No. 5 Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Red Bull Arena on Saturday.
