Homegrown talent, international opportunity: FC Dallas Academy U-18s train with Mexico MNT

FC Dallas Academy U-18s train with Mexico national team

Maybe it's not getting to geek out over a hug from Lionel Messi, but training with El Tri is still pretty cool. Nine members of the FC Dallas Academy U-18 squad were invited to join the Mexico national team on Sunday at MoneyGram Soccer Park in Dallas.

Giovanni Montesdeoca, Paxton Pomykal, Hector Mentalvo, Brandon Terwege, Irvin Dominguez, Josh Peloquin, Adrian Ramos, Philip Ponder and Benji Granillo trained with Mexico as the team prepares for Tuesday's friendly against Argentina at AT&T Stadium in nearby Arlington.
The Academy players posed with the full Mexico roster, peeling off for a smaller group shot and even fielding a few media requests. Check out the pics!
