In July, Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado announced a tentative deal for David Beckham's proposed MLS expansion team to build a stadium at the site of the old Orange Bowl.

Since then we have gotten few additional details, but in an interview with Sky Sports, David Beckham sounds hopeful about announcing something soon.

"We are getting closer. There's a lot of positivity around the city and I've always said that Miami is a place that will love a team. They need a team. They want a team. Hopefully in the next couple of months we'll be able to make an announcement," Beckham said in the interview.

Beckham exercised his contractual option to start an expansion team over 18 months ago, and the world superstar acknowledged that it hasn't been the easiest time. Beckham said in regards to the troubles, "It's been frustrating over the last year-and-a-half."

For soccer fans in Miami, this could lead to welcome news.
