Ticketing process announced for Confederations Cup playoff match between USA and Mexico

The Confederations Cup playoff game is a match that all US and Mexico fans will want to attend. Now they know how.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 9, fans will be able to apply online at CONCACAF.com for the right to purchase tickets via a lottery system. The winning applicants will be notified by September 18, when they will be able to select specific seating preferences (limit six tickets per application, one entry per household).

A supplemental ticketing process for select USA and Mexico supporters groups will also be organized independently through each federation.

Fans who are registered as U.S. Soccer Supporters Club members before Aug. 26 will be eligible to take part in a sale through U.S. Soccer to purchase tickets and sit in designated fan sections for the game. Details of the sale will be coming in early September directly via email to registered supporters.

A limited amount of tickets will be made available to the general public on September 29. More information will be released in coming weeks.

“One of our goals for this game was to make the Rose Bowl a representation of both passionate fan bases,” said CONCACAF Acting General Secretary Ted Howard in a release. “The interest and demand for an event of this magnitude requires a process that allows for an opportunity for a fair and equitable distribution of tickets.”

The game will be taken place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California and will kick off at 9 pm ET. The match will decide whether the US national team or Mexican national team will compete in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
