Jose Torres and Tigres UANL edged Club Tijuana 2-1 to earn three useful road points in a dramatic meeting of Yanks abroad in Friday night Liga MX action at Estadio Caliente.

Torres got the start in the Tigres midfield before giving way to Mexican international Jesús Dueñas just past the hour mark, while US youth national teamer Paul Arriola made a 70th-minute substitute entry for the home side.

As has been the case for most of his time in Tijuana to date, Michael Orozco went the distance at the heart of the Xolos defense. But he and his teammates were left stunned as Tigres stormed back from a 1-0 deficit via goals from José Arturo Rivas and Joffre Guerrón, the winner arriving in the 84th minute (watch highlights here).

Jonathan Bornstein logged a full 90 minutes for Querétaro in the other Friday night clash south of the border, helping Los Gallos Blancos knock off Cruz Azul in a wild 4-2 shootout at La Corregidora highlighted by Emanuel Villa's hat trick.
