Real Salt Lake part ways with president Bill Manning in front-office restructuring

Real Salt Lake owner Dell Loy Hansen announced Tuesday the club and longtime president Bill Manning have mutually parted ways in a move to restructure their front office.

Manning, whose contract had expired, took over as president of the club and Rio Tinto Stadium in 2008 and won Major League Soccer’s Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year award in 2012 and 2014.

"Bill has obviously done an outstanding job building this club from its infancy, and we wish him well in his future endeavors," Hansen, who joined the RSL ownership group in Fall of 2009 and became sole owner in January 2013, said in a statement. "As we move into the second decade of our existence, our growing organization requires a different structure.

“As a result, several senior executives within our company will assume greater roles across various departments, with a focus on integration and expanding our ability to capture championships, on and off the field."

According to a team release, Hansen will immerse himself with the staff, identifying areas of growth and need for 2016 and beyond, as well as addressing both short-term and long-term planning processes for Real Salt Lake, the club’s USL side Real Monarchs (USL), Rio Tinto Stadium, the RSL-AZ Academy, youth structure and ancillary businesses that support the RSL landscape.
