Everything you need to know about DraftKings, Major League Soccer's new, exclusive daily fantasy partner

If the grueling 34-round MLS Fantasy season is starting to take its toll, you may want to check out the daily MLS fantasy contests over on DraftKings, which just became the exclusive daily fantasy sports destination for MLS in the USA and Canada. Players no longer have to wait the entire season to collect prizes for their MLS Fantasy managerial skills. Pick a winning team and get paid the same day!

If you're new to daily fantasy sports, or just need a refresher, here's the lowdown on how it all works:

What is DraftKings Fantasy Soccer?

  • DraftKings runs contests on each day of the MLS season. Some of the contests are free to enter, while others charge a buy-in fee to enter the contest.
  • The player pool will consist of all players participating in the current day’s games.
  • Player salaries fluctuate from contest to contest based on their performance.
  • If you place into a paid position in the contest you entered, you win the amount based on the prize structure for that specific contest.
  • Upon completion of the final game of the contest, the cash you win will automatically be credited to your account so you can enter more contests!

How do I play?

  • First, you'll need an account. Don't worry – it's free.
  • Once you reach the lobby and filter the soccer contests, you can decide which one you’d like to enter. Click “Draft Team” to begin building your team.
  • In each contest, you have a fixed salary cap of $50,000 to draft an 8-player roster (2 Forwards, 2 Midfielders, 2 Defenders, 1 Goalkeeper and 1 Flex (any field player).
  • After you submit your roster, you can modify the roster up until the contest begins.
  • Bonus Tip: One of the coolest features of playing on DraftKings is the late swap feature, which allows you to swap anyone from your lineup whose game has not yet started and replace him with another player whose game has also yet to start.
  • Rosters must include players from at least 3 different MLS teams.
