AMSTERDAM – Sandhausen right winger Andrew Wooten continued his hot start with a brace as the home side survived a wild contest to book a 4-3 victory against Bobby Wood's Union Berlin on Sunday.

Both Americans enjoyed a fruitful day, as Wood notched his first assist for the Iron Union. It was Wooten, however, that opened the scoring on 21 minutes. After swapping lanes with the central forward Aziz Bouhaddouz, the No. 8 shirt beat his defender to the striker's cross and confidently buried the finish.

Shortly after the capital crew leveled in the 41st minute, Wood buzzed the frame with a half-volley in the area. Union Berlin finally grabbed the lead early in the second half, but Wooten would soon reply by equalizing with his third goal of the young season. This time feasting on a looping Ranislav Jovanovic cross, he got loose to nod home at the back post with 20 minutes left.

Mere seconds later, the visitors were back in front with Wood earning the helper. The US international led Damir Kreilach toward the inside left channel and the captain promptly curled home a beauty. The Hawaii native left with his side ahead in the 78th minute.

Sandhausen hit twice in the final 10 minutes to flip the scoreline, before Wooten made way in stoppage time. The victory kept them perfect through two rounds, but a three-point license violation deduction has them pushed down to fifth place. Union Berlin, meanwhile, remained winless in 12th place.

Over in Norway's Tippeligaen, Alex DeJohn and IK Start came up short in a 2-0 defeat at Aalesund FK.

Under pressure most of the day, the centerback performed well in the first half, but had some troubles after the break. By conceding twice in the second frame, 13th-place Start slipped to a third straight loss.
