Orlando City SC waive defender Sean St. Ledger for "serious breach of club policy"

Orlando City SC announced on Saturday that they have placed defender Sean St. Ledger on waivers due to “a serious breach of club policy.”

The 30-year-old center/outside back joined OCSC this winter, appearing in 15 MLS matches – 14 of which were starts – for the expansion club. Prior to Saturday’s announcement, St. Ledger had started 12 consecutive league matches for the Lions.

The decision to release St. Ledger comes three days after Orlando City announced on Wednesday that they had signed former Real Madrid academy defender David Mateos and Swiss Super League veteran midfielder Adrian Winter.

Orlando City will be in action on Saturday night, when they’ll host Eastern Conference rival Columbus Crew SC at the Citrus Bowl (7:30 pm ET, MLS LIVE).
